18 Years of Musical Craft
Jorge Cabrera is a versatile professional guitarist, and music educator with over 18 years of experience in popular music performance and instruction. Currently serving as a musician in the United States Navy Fleet Bands he has dedicated eight years to the U.S. Navy, where he performs on electric guitar and percussion as part of the Popular Music Group "Pride." In this role, he delivers high-energy sets spanning pop, rock, soul, funk, country, and more.
His performing career includes 10 years as a guitarist at Second Baptist Church in Monrovia, California, contributing to vibrant worship services and community events. Jorge has also spent six and a half years as a guitar instructor at a private music school in Upland California, guiding students in technique, theory, and contemporary styles. As a freelancer for 18 years, Jorge has specialized in pop, rock, jazz, funk, soul, and Latin genres, performing in numerous bands and collaborating across diverse musical projects.
Jorge's extensive live performance experience extends internationally and nationally: he has toured multiple countries in Asia, performed in Mexico, and played all throughout the United States. Jorge also brings significant studio expertise as a guitarist, along with numerous performance appearances on television and radio broadcasts.
Holding a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music Performance from California State University, Los Angeles, as well as associate degrees in Fine and Performing Arts, Music, and Recording Technology from Citrus College, Jorge is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Popular Music Pedagogy at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music under Dr. Raina Murnak. His work bridges professional performance with innovative education, making him a dedicated contributor to both the stage and the classroom.
